Public Services Director Job Posting

The City of Three Rivers is hiring for a Public Services Director.  The high profile, senior level position is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and directing all DPS activities for the City.  Areas of administrative responsibility include all street system, City parks and properties, City cemetery, motor pool, sewer collection system, water distribution system, and related engineering areas.  The position is also responsible for determining major department policies, planning long-term programs, and making difficult technical decisions relative to Public Services.  The individual in the position will provide direct technical and functional supervision to professional, technical, clerical, and a skilled and unskilled labor force.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration, civil engineering, environmental science, or a related field.  The position also requires a minimum of five years of related experience, strong management and supervisory skills, outstanding written and verbal communications, a solid working knowledge of computers and related business application software programs, strong delegation and organizational skills, a proven record of goal oriented project accomplishment, and effective long-range planning skills.
